Transformation and Moving Forward: Moving Forward 25.06.16 PAS. F. Bailey

WARNING: If you do not believe in God or the Bible, do not read this post. If you do read it despite not believing in God or the Bible please do not leave any negative comments. It is a bit long in comparison to my other posts

When God gives us a message, we should obey.
The church has become comfortable. As God did not intend for Moses to be in the wilderness so long (Deuteronomy 1:6-8), He did not intend for us to be on Earth so long

Recently, my former district pastor decided to pay my church a visit. Now, he sings like an angel and preaches like Paul so I was looking forward to an amazing Sabbath.

The church is undergoing a year-long study entitled “LORD, TRANSFORM ME” an initiative for the years 2015-2020. This is a programme geared at improving the lives of believers through Thanks-Living. The Psalms are filled with verbal praises (Psalm 9: 1). Daniel lifted up the name of God (Daniel 2: 19-23). However, God does not only want thanksgiving from the lips, but thanks-living that comes from the heart.

Thanks-Living considers three (3) factors:

πŸ˜‡Β  Forgiving

Focus Verses: St. Matthew 18: 21-35; Ephesians 4: 31, 32

Forgiveness is an act of gratitude required to keep God’s grace flowing into our lives.
It shows that we have turned and moved from the mountain
Unforgiveness is like taking poison and expecting someone else to die.
It builds up anger, hate, stress and stagnates growth.

πŸ˜‡ Healthy Living

Focus Verses: Romans 12: 1; 1 Corinthians 10: 31

We should lead and live sacrificial lives
The acronym NEW START is a guideline for healthy living.
Nutrition – eating right, preferably a vegetarian or other healthy lifestyle. It is proven that persons who follow the biblical/Seventh Day Adventist dietary lifestyle.

Exercise – at least light exercise three to seven times per week.

Water – drinking six to eight four ounce (4 oz.) glasses of water.

Sunlight – receive adequate amounts of sunlight in the early morning and late afternoon for Vitamin D
🎢Mr Golden Sun please shine down on me🎢

Temperance – in all things exercise self-control

Air – oxygen is needed to survive. If you live in a congested neighbourhood, take a visit to the countryside and BREATHE

Rest – we all hear this one often, but many of us are workaholics (or like me read-a-holicsπŸ˜‚) but we should try to get enough rest even if this does not mean sleeping. Take a few minutes to relax and rejuvenate

Trust – trust sets our mind at ease. Belief in a deity, a religious belief or having someone you trust is vital for peace of mind

πŸ˜‡ Generous Giving

Focus Verses: Acts 10: 38; Galatians 6: 9, 10

Only a full sponge cannot absorb anymore. As children of God we should let go of old blessings so you can receive new ones.
We should not be selfish with the word of God or with our resources.

They set off to where it seemed impossible. (Deuteronomy 2: 1) That is Moving Forward.

Trust in God
Live with an attitude of gratitude
Honour God with what belongs to Him : Our Body, Finances and Time (Proverbs 3: 5-10)

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 4: 13, 14 ESV)
